There are two main season's to living in Zante, summer season and winter season.  If you are living here for the whole year then your shopping and entertainment habits will change from one season to the other.  In summer the resorts with their Tavernas, Bars, Restaurants and Discos will be open and eager to serve, in the winter most will close and certainly all the English Discos will (Although there are some Greek discos's which will be open) .  However as the island becomes more inhabited with Foreign citizens,  more bars are staying open in the main town and the resorts.  

Summer season runs from May - October

Winter season runs from November - April

ASKOS STONE PARK (open all year)

BOWLING ALLEYS (some open all year)

ZANTE TOWN (open all year for shopping and also various bars and restaurants)

LOCAL RADIO From 2005 Zante  has its own English speaking radio station on 88.6 ISLAND RADIO 

ENGLISH NEWSPAPER Athens News weekly on a Friday and local newspaper HEMERA has English pages in its Friday edition called Zante News
ERMIS also has pages in Friday edition called Zante Times.

BOOT FAIRS (Open in winter only) These are good meeting places they will be held at different bars in the resorts normally at a weekend, here you can buy second hand clothes, craft products, and produce such as pickled onions, mincemeat, homemade organic wine etc.  They are organised by Animal Welfare and raise funds for this cause.

WATER PARK (open summer only)
Most holiday companies do excursions to the water park.  However, from the resorts of Lagana and Kalamaki it is possible to get a bus, check the bus stops for times.
