Greek
Tax Number
The tax
number is obtained at the local tax office, it was not
hard to get but you are better to have a Greek speaking
person with you who knows the system. Beware there are
some people who will charge up to 200 Euro to do this
for you, when I am sure a friendly Greek or English
person will help you for nothing.
There
is no charge for this and although we had assistance it
could be done without help. There is a little English
spoken there. We had to fill out a form and return the
next day but how long getting this will depend on the
time of year you apply. It is important to know that
you cannot do much without a tax number as you will be
asked for it constantly.
You
will need your passport and a resident address in Zante.
Note:-
your passport will be needed for nearly everything you
do in Greece.
NOTE:- The tax office is
located between K. Lombardou (The main road along
the sea front) and Filita which runs parallel.
Very near the back of Piraeus Bank.
