Zamdram came about by a few friends chatting in a bar.  Some had done  "amdram" in the UK and having  free time in winter they thought it would be nice to put on a production or play to entertain the locals and ex-pat community.  Once the seed had taken root, the enthusiasm followed and after searching for a script, a traditional English Pantomime was their first production.  So Zante Amateur Dramatics was born.

The first production of Cinderella was held in Pigadakia the end of March 2008 with two more performance following in Pigadakia and Alakanas.  The dress rehearsal was performed in front of a few friends who quickly proclaimed it a success and the three performances were played to packed houses.  It is hoped that the success will continue and anyone who would be interested in joining for next years production please contact Sara.      

CINDERELLA 2008

Here are some pictures of the 2008 production.  The costumes, scenery and props were all paid for out of weekly subs, begged for, borrowed or paid for out of the performers own pocket.  Many costumes were bought at boot sales and we had a wonderful wardrobe mistress who managed to do magical thing with old tablecloths, sheets and curtains.  The cow was made from papier-mâché wire, and old sheets.  It is amazing what you can do with junk and a can of left over paint.
