working in Zante for a season

Me and my friend are both interested in working in Zante this summer.I have visited before and adore zante and always said i would return.We have both never worked abroad before and are thinking of bar or PR work in laganas.We are both very hard working the hard work does not put us off but we have no idea how to go about this,how much money we are going to need how to get a place to stay or a job.My university exams do not finish until june and so we can't leave the UK until after then.
Any advice?

There are other forums about Zante that have jobs sections. Try zanteweb.gr & justzante.co.uk. This year is a big unknown regarding work. We have heard many locals who say jobs are hard to find this year. There are 2 reasons, the recession and a decrease in British visitors over the last few years. There are always more people seeking jobs than there are jobs available. Most jobs will be filled before June. Many bars, restaurants & clubs have websites, many with vacancies advertised. You could try emailing them even if they are not advertising.
Regarding money, you may earn as little as €20 per day. I believe a room will cost about €300 per month during the summer but check with other forums. I think the normal approach to getting a job is to get the cheapest holiday available, spend all week begging for a job and then a room. If you get one you don't get on the plane for the return flight.
